Join us in person at city hall or online when we go live at 7:30 p.m. to endorse the Plant Based Treaty, a grassroots campaign designed to put food systems at the forefront of combatting the climate crisis!
WHY NOW?
The IPCC report that was just released is full of dire warnings about our future. What future we have for ourselves, our children, and generations to come will be profoundly influenced by the actions we take now to avert climate and ecological catastrophe. Abolishing animal agriculture is a vital part of the solution, and for that reason, the Animal Save, Health Save, and Climate Save movements and many other climate and animal advocacy organizations have united around a groundbreaking proposal known as the Plant Based Treaty.
WHAT ARE OUR DEMANDS?
As a companion to the Paris Agreement, the Plant Based Treaty urges governments to embrace the following three principles:
RELINQUISH: No land usage, ecosystem degradation or deforestation for the purpose of animal agriculture.
REDIRECT: An active transition from animal-based agricultural systems to plant-based food systems.
RESTORE: Restore key ecosystems and reforest the earth.
