Internships

We offer a vast array of internships, from marketing, communications, and college outreach internships to event planning, volunteer management, and fundraising internships. We can tailor your internship to match your skill set. For example, if you are an exceptional videographer, your internship could consist in you designing videos for us. No matter what your unique skill set is, we will find a way to incorporate your strengths into our mission. Benefits of interning with Project Animal Freedom include hands-on experience in the nonprofit sector, improved chances of finding a job in animal advocacy, and invitations to join the board for those who truly excel.

Committee service

At Project Animal Freedom, we are proud to run several committees dedicated to furthering our overarching mission of building a fully vegan Midwest by 2056. Our top three committees are our Campaigns and Communications Committee, Resource Development and Finance Committee, and Events Committee. We also offer a variety of subcommittees, from our Innovation Subcommittee to our Social Justice Subcommittee. By joining one of our committees, you can maximize your impact for animals.

Board service

Our board has grown considerably over the past couple years, but we could always use more helping hands on the team. If you are exceptionally committed and hard-working, you should consider applying to join our board. As a board member, you would oversee all of our operations, ensuring we realize our mission as effectively as possible. You should also expect to chair a committee (if applicable), participate in fundraising efforts, and engage in strategic planning. By serving on the board of our rapidly growing organization, you can make a profound difference for the more-than-human animal victims we strive to aid across the Midwest and beyond.

Every shirt you purchase is a pledge for compassion, a commitment to change, and a step towards animal liberation. At Project Animal Freedom, we channel every ounce of your support into action—action that reverberates across communities and ignites a revolution in animal rights.

But why volunteer with us when you can volunteer with other animal rights organizations?

  • We are the only animal rights organization explicitly dedicated to advancing animal rights across the Midwest, the most neglected region for animal advocacy in the US other than the South, where we plan to expand next

  • We are one of the only chapter-building organizations in the entire animal rights movement, enabling us to spread our influence far and wide and spare millions of animals from a lifetime of suffering in the process

  • We have a unique strategy for building the largest, most resilient activist network the animal rights movement has yet seen, improving on the models employed by other chapter-building animal rights organizations

Project Animal Freedom is, first and foremost, a movement-based organization; our goal is to realize the full potential of the modern animal rights movement, and doing so requires the mobilization of millions of people fighting in unison to achieve a set goal.

The best way to build such a movement, we believe, is through a strategic chapter-based system that emphasizes our three core competencies: marketing, fundraising, and leadership recruitment. Each of these chapters will then serve as a vital community-organizing hub, with each additional chapter building the pressure we need to generate transformative institutional change.

By implementing a novel, highly effective marketing strategy that, to the best of our knowledge, no other animal rights organization has yet implemented on a large scale, we are setting the stage for explosive growth. The question is this: will you join us at this pivotal moment in our organization’s history?
