Today, our Executive Director returns after an eight-day hiatus

Dear friends, I can hardly express my joy to be back on the campaign trail, rallying people around the noble cause of animal rights best I can. Few things in life bring me so much gratitude as knowing all of you remarkably kind, caring, compassionate folk.

While my mind remains exceptionally strong, I have and my loved ones have noticed a steady decline in my overall health, everything from fatty liver disease and high cholesterol to simply falling asleep on the couch, too tired to even walk up to my bedroom for a good night’s that doesn’t leave my neck in such aching pain.

The steady, yet slow-as-bitumen progression of exhaustion coursing throughout my entire body will continue making it more difficult to continue performing at the level all our dear supporters (and our nonhuman animal brothers, sisters, and xesters most all) deserve; in fact, I fear one day all I will have left is what remains of my once brilliant, resilient mind, increasingly reduced, nullified, and strangled to nothingness as my other internal organs reach the terminal end of their biological lifespan (what a fitting death for someone who prized their intelligence above all else).

“What if the true purpose of all the challenges in our life was to break us down so we could never be broken again?”

As luck would have it, I am a remarkably strong cookie. I have weathered so many storms as an animal rights activist over the past few years, I see not reason why I cannot continue weathering them, no matter how turbulent, how bitter, and how spiteful.. But should someone succeed in so breaking me, I am work night and day to create a nearly indestructible, titanium super-alloy none but the darkest wizards can successfully corrupt. Indeed, what if the true purpose of all the challenges in our life was to break us down so we could never be broken again?

My foregoing ideations aside, I would like to underscore the resounding need now, more than even, for fellow animal advocates to step up and perform their duty to our community, the environment, and all the beautiful lifeforms with whom we share this sacred blue-green dot hurtling through space. There are few thing I fear more the potential failure of Project Animal Freedom were I to suddenly die or become immobilized, not just eight days, but for 80 or, even worst yet 180 days.

We are still a fresh, hip, new, sexy, attractive, and trendy organization, and our youthful age prevents too much needless paper-pushing, bureaucracy, and an all-powerful, all-mighty board (blessed be the chairs in the office lounge room upon which they sit!) from getting in the way of fast, efficient, effective adjustments to corporate culture, program synthesis, and visionary work of almost any type.

However, our lean, green, animal-abuse fighting machine is still missing one key component: you! We cannot underscore emphatically enough the need for more volunteers servant leaders, and even board and committee members, especially now that board nominations are in full-swing this December.

“Our job as animal advocates is not always to do whatever is the most pleasant, convenient, and politic, but to raise awareness, speak truth to power, and end the horrors, injustices, and atrocities of the animal abuse industry once an for all!”

Before you shy away from these opportunities to maximize your impact for on nonhuman animal compatriots, please know that you can potentially spare dozens more times more animals by inspiring other people to join our movement, whether directly or indirectly. Let’s imagine, for a moment, you decide to move outside your comfort bubble to spend just 30 minutes along Grand Avenue at SLU. Let’s further imagine you manage to distribute 150 leaflets during those 30 minutes. By the most reasonable of estimates be possess, you would be responsible for having spared well over 10,000 animals from a lifetime of suffering because of all the dietary changes you inspiring within just a handful of minutes, creating half-a-dozen more vegans and having inspiring well over 100 people to take veganism more seriously.

Our job as animal advocates is not always to do whatever is the most pleasant, convenient, and politic, but to raise awareness, speak truth to power, and end the horrors, injustices, and atrocities of the animal abuse industry once an for all!

If are at interested in maximizing your impact for animals, whether it is volunteering about on our virtual reality truth booths, interning as part of our College Outreach Program, or even becoming a board and/or committee member, please complete the following form as quickly, and we will do our best to find the best opportunity for you: https://projectanimalfreedom.kindful.com/register/vegan-talent-search.
