Yesterday, we celebrated Vegmas

Hello, friends!

This is Kyle the Vegan Jedi on behalf of Project Animal Freedom.

Yesterday reflected the culmination of our third annual #ChistmasOfCompassion campaign. I would like to reflect on the significance of this holiday season for our team, our members, and, most importantly, the nonhuman animal victims we strive to aid.

First, I would like to begin by tendering an enormous thanks to our event attendees, donors, and board and committee members. You are the lifeblood of this organization, and we simply could not function at a high level without your consistent, committed participation.

Second, I would like to underscore the importance of supporting our bold, unique mission—the creation of a fully vegan Midwest by 2056. We cannot realize this crucial mission without a grassroots movement of small donors behind us. I am especially grateful for the dozens of people who have donated generously this year as we adapt to the COVID-19 pandemic. Unable to host large, in-person fundraising events, we would have gone bankrupt several months ago if not for your kindhearted support. Instead, you chose to open your hearts as we strive to inspire compassion for all creatures, no matter their species.

This #Vegmas, I would like to celebrate our most compelling year of activism yet. While we took a six-month hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic, we have since adapted, moving the majority of our meetings and other events online only to witness our average event attendance spike from 5-10 individuals to 20-30 individuals. We have also built the underlying infrastructure necessary to rapidly expand across the Midwest, adding five new leaders in the past two months alone. With our increased capacity to advocate for nonhuman animals comes opportunities we would have struggled to secure otherwise. Thanks to our Events Committee, for example, we will embark on our most adventurous year yet in 2021, organizing events from a Vegan Speed Dating night on Valentine’s Day to a virtual Animal Trivia Night and a #MeatIsEcocide Symposium.

None of these exciting events, however, would be possible without your support. This holiday season, give the gift of compassion by donating to our mission of building a fully vegan Midwest—and, by extension, a fully vegan world—by 2056. Your generosity with support our hard-hitting campaigns, from our inaugural #FishFreeFebruary campaign to our gripping #HalloweenIsReal campaign. Your charitable contributions will also help us expand our outreach to Midwestern cities, such as Springfield, Missouri and Lincoln, Nebraska, that lack a local animal rights organization. By forming Project Animal Freedom chapters in metropolitan areas with populations in excess of 100,000 yet that lack a meaningful animal rights presence, we can maximize our impact for the billions of animals who continue to suffer and die needlessly in factory farms and slaughterhouses.

Cows, chickens, pigs, rabbits, and animals of innumerable other species are counting on you to free them from utter misery. Will you heed their cries? Their screams? Their howls? This holiday season, please consider becoming a benefactor of Project Animal Freedom and all the incredible work we already perform. Here is your opportunity to revolutionize the entire Midwest until every animal lives safe, happy, and free from the genuine tyranny of factory farms, slaughterhouses, and other animal-abusing facilities.

The animals are counting on you, and they can bear to suffer no longer. What are you waiting for?
