Join us for a fur vigil in honor of the millions of minks, foxes, raccoon dogs, rabbits, chinchillas, and other innocent beings ruthlessly slaughtered by the fur industry, an industry valued at over $40 billion globally.

At this event, we will pressure Yves Saint Laurent to become the latest company to ditch fur, as well as raise awareness more generally about the cruelty of the fur industry for hundreds of passersby. The fur industry is facing more public scrutiny than ever, as are the companies that are complicit in their crimes. This is a valuable opportunity to win yet another victory against the horrendously cruel fur industry en route to building a fully fur-free world.

WHY SHOULD WE PROTEST THE FUR INDUSTRY?

The fur industry remains one of the cruelest, most abusive, virtually unregulated industries in the world. Each year, the fur industry abuses one billion rabbits and over 50 million other animals, including foxes, minks, seals, and raccoon dogs.

Animals raised for fur endure extremely cramped, unsanitary conditions with many suffering from severe, untreated infections and crippling foot conditions. Millions more go insane from the stress, confinement, and abuse, running in circles or engaging in other repetitive behaviors as they wish more than anything to escape their rusty-wire prisons.

Fortunately, millions of compassionate people around the world are mobilizing to push for the complete and total abolition of the fur industry. Please join us as we fight to not only ban the sale of fur in and around St. Louis, but also send a clear message to the fur industry that we will tolerate their abuse no longer.

COVID-19 PRECAUTIONS:

All volunteers are required to wear masks at all times. Volunteers should also ensure they are not exhibiting any symptoms of COVID-19 prior to joining us, and they should practice social distancing to the best of their ability. Hand sanitizer will be provided.
