Yesterday, we protested Circus Fantastic.

Circus Fantastic has a long history of Animal Welfare Act violations. Unlike most circuses, Circus Fantastic has also continued to operate despite the COVID-19 pandemic. This company even failed to practice proper social distancing, with large groups of people being pressed together during the event.

Fortunately, we met up with two other activists: Lori and Sandy. Lori is a passionate, first-time activist who is featured on the photo accompanying this post. She is a St. Louis native, but she happened to be in Cape Girardeau looking after her father’s farm. Sandy, on the other hand, traveled all the way from Indiana to join us. She has been closely following this circus, and she even coordinated an undercover investigation last night, bringing my younger brother, Gabe, into the arena. She documented injuries with her glasses that featured a discreet, built-in camera.

We are grateful to everyone who joined us last night, and we look forward to organizing even larger actions for the animals in the near future.
